Monkey Town Primate Centre, located on the N2 in Somerset West is a Wildlife Centre for monkeys and apes as well as a large variety of other species of animals.  There are more than 250 primates and 26 different exotic species of monkeys and apes including Tammy, Ruby, and Sunny, our famous chimp sisters.

Monkey Town is not just a primate centre but also a wildlife centre with over 700 animals in total to admire.

Visitors to the well-designed enclosure at Monkey Town observe the monkeys from caged walkways allowing the monkeys to roam freely on the outside.

All our primates and animals enjoy their own specific, well-balanced diet so kindly DO NOT feed any of our animals. Our keepers take good care of this!

    The daily public tour starts at 12h00 – it includes two public feeding times
    12h30 forest feeding where around 80 monkeys eat together
    13h00 chimpanzees lunch time feeding
    15h00 chimpanzees yoghurt feed

Set in a peaceful neighborhood ,with the Stellenbocsh mountains  as a backdrop. We are ideally located just 30minutes from the airport. 40 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the Cape Town CBD, 20 minutes from the winelands of Stellenbocsh and a stones throw from the beaches of Gordons bay and Strand in the Helderberg basin.

Guests can relax in the communal dining room in front of the fire during the cold months or outside on the Veranda beside the braai in the summer.
